Petro urged an immediate convening of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations in response to the missile strikes on the Venezuelan capital.
"At this moment they are bombing Caracas. Alert to the entire world: Venezuela has been attacked. They are bombing with missiles. The OAS and the UN must meet immediately," the Colombian president said.
Meanwhile, Diaz-Canel demanded an urgent response from the international community, calling the incident state terrorism against the resilient Venezuelan people.
"Cuba denounces and demands an URGENT reaction from the international community against the criminal attack by the US on Venezuela. Our Zone of Peace is being brutally assaulted. State terrorism against the brave Venezuelan people and against Our America. Homeland or Death! We Will Overcome!"
Earlier, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela issued an official statement denouncing the aggression by the United States against civilian and military sites in Caracas, as well as the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira.
The Venezuelan government affirmed its resolve to defend national sovereignty, highlighting the brave resistance of its people in the face of attempts to seize the country's strategic resources and undermine its political independence.
