Iran, Mauritius Weigh Plans for Cooperation within IORA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Mauritius held talks about enhancing bilateral relations and strengthening coordination within the framework of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).

In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Mauritian counterpart Dhananjay Ramful exchanged views on bilateral ties and international developments.

Araqchi welcomed the expansion of relations between Tehran and Port Louis and expressed support for pursuing the process of developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

He underscored Iran’s readiness to follow up on strengthening ties across fields prioritized by both sides.

For his part, Ramful highlighted his country’s preparedness to develop relations with Iran and emphasized the importance of identifying areas and capacities for cooperation between the two countries.

During the phone call, the two senior diplomats also weighed plans to enhance cooperation and coordination within the framework of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).
