AFC Futsal Club Championship: Dabiri Loses to Chonburi Blue Wave
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Dabiri Tabriz was defeated against Chonburi Blue Wave of Thailand in Group B of the 2014 AFC Futsal Club Championship on Wednesday.
The Iranian outfit lost to defending champion 3-1 at the Shuangliu Sports Centre in Chengdu, China.
“It was was a very good game and the level and speed of the match was at the very highest of Asian futsal,” said Tabriz assistant coach Reza Kordi.
“The Tabriz team can prepare for any opponent in the semi-final. Nagoya or Shenzhen, it doesn't matter, we'll be ready.”
“And if we get to the final and we face Chonburi again – we'll definitely beat them.”
Dabiri Tabriz will play winner of Shenzhen Nanling of China and Japan’s Nagoya Oceans on Friday.
The Iranian teams Foolad Mahan and Giti Pasand Isfahan have won two titles in the competitions in 2010 and 2012 respectively.
