Iran Can Be Europe’s Strategic Partner: Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh underlined that the Islamic Republic is ready to further boost cooperation with European countries in diverse economic areas.

“The visits to Iran by the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs (Paolo Gentiloni) and Minister of Economic Development (Federica Guidi) and (officials) from other European countries in recent months are indicative of the fact that Iran can be a good and strategic partner for European countries,” Nematzadeh said in a speech on Sunday.

He made the remarks in a cultural ceremony during the Expo 2015 in the Italian city of Milan to mark Iran Day.

Nematzadeh further invited foreign investors to travel to Iran and cooperate with Iran’s public and private sectors in diverse economic areas, especially tourism, industry, mining, trade, infrastructure and renewable energy.

The Expo Milano 2015, which embodies the theme of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, opened on May 1 and runs for six months.

It is a global, cultural, educational and scientific event which gathers countries, organizations and communities in one place to showcase the best of their technology.
