Iran’s Regional Stances “Most Logical”: Ayatollah Khamenei

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran cannot remain indifferent to the confrontation between hegemonic powers and those who pursue values like independence, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said, stressing that Tehran’s stances on regional issues are the most logical ones.

“We cannot be indifferent to the arrogance front’s fight against the front of values and independence-seeking, and accordingly, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stances on diverse topics, particularly on the issues of Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen, Syria and Iraq are quite clear and logical,” the Supreme Leader said Wednesday in an address to commanders of the Basij (voluntary force) in Tehran.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s stances toward Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Bahrain are the most logical stances that a fair and wise individual can adopt,” the Leader added.

Imam Khamenei warned that the arrogant powers have plans to consign the cause of Palestine to oblivion, noting, “Despite all attempts by the arrogance front and even accompaniment of (some) Arab governments, the Palestinian people’s (new) Intifada has begun in the West Bank.”

“We will defend the Palestinian people’s move with all strength, in any way and as long as we can,” the Leader underlined.

On Bahrain, Imam Khamenei stressed that the people of the Arab country demand nothing except the right to vote, criticizing the West that touts itself as an advocate of democracy for ignoring the Bahraini nation’s democratic demands.

Pointing to months of relentless attacks on the people of Yemen, Ayatollah Khamenei decried supports for the attackers by the organizations that talk about democracy and human rights.

The Leader also lashed out at the arrogance front for backing the “most vicious and cruel terrorists” in Syria and Iraq and for insisting that the government of Syria should be selected by outsider.

Every nation must determine its government by itself, the Leader underscored, rejecting any decision that foreigners want to make for the Syrian people.

Elsewhere in the comments, Ayatollah Khamenei slammed the US government as the “symbol of the arrogance’s hostility toward the Iranian nation.”

The Leader once again warned of the enemy’s plots to infiltrate into Iran via different tactics, saying that foreign elements try to make an inroad in disguise.

The Supreme Leader has repeatedly cautioned against the hostile plots for regaining a foothold in Iran.

While many consider a July nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) a major breakthrough in the improvement of ties between Tehran and the West, the Leader has already made it clear that Iran’s policy toward the US will remain unchanged regardless of the ultimate fate of the JCPOA.
