No Change in Revolution’s Goals: Iran’s President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined on Thursday that the country’s main goals now are no different from those upon which the 1979 Revolution was initially founded.

If Iran sticks to the goals set by the Islamic Revolution, all aspirations will be achieved with people’s efforts, unity and solidarity, President Rouhani told reporters while attending mass rallies in Tehran, held to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution’s victory.

“We can achieve all the goals with the help of people and the Revolution’s Leader (Ayatollah Khamenei),” he added.

The president also highlighted Iran’s perfect security in the region.

This year’s nationwide rallies follow the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a lasting nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).

Known as a great diplomatic success for President Rouhani’s administration, the JCPOA came into force in January, terminating all nuclear-related sanctions against Tehran.
