Zarif Dismisses Conditions for Iran after German Official's Comments on Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined that no country could ever set conditions for Iran, whose well-established policies are known to all, after Germany’s vice chancellor called for recognition of the Israeli regime by Iran.

“Iran is an independent country with definite policies, and different countries know about the Islamic Republic of Iran’s policies, which are constructive,” Zarif told IRIB on Saturday evening.

Highlighting Iran’s major and active role in the fight against terrorism in the region, the foreign minister contended that all countries would take pride in having relations with Iran.

It came after Germany’s vice chancellor and minister of economy and energy, Sigmar Gabriel, who is schedule to visit Iran in coming days, told Der Spiegel that Tehran and Berlin could enjoy amicable relations only when Iran “accepted Israel’s right to exist.”

Iran has officially announced that its support for Palestinians is an unchanging policy, and that it will not let any country interfere in its internal affairs.
