TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and the Republic of Armenia have agreed to raise the value of annual trade exchanges to $3 billion.

Describing Armenia as a “strategic partner” for Iran in trade and economic fields, Head of Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization Davood Manzour said the two neighbors have agreed to ramp up the level of annual trade exchanges to $3 billion.

Iran and Armenia have great capacities to enhance their economic cooperation, he noted, adding that the two neighbors have inked 19 cooperation economic agreements at the conclusion of 18th Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, held in Tehran on February 14 and 15.

Figures show that the value of trade exchanges between Iran and Armenia exceeded $692 million in 2023, showing a 2.5% decrease compared to 2022.
