Tehran, Kabul Sign MoU on Agricultural Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Officials from Iran and the Taliban signed a 55-clause memorandum of understanding for cooperation in agricultural sectors.

The MoU was signed during a visit that a delegation from Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture paid to Kabul.

The document entails cooperation between the two neighbors in a range of fields, including plant protection, agricultural research, soil sciences, alternatives to poppy cultivation, irrigation, agricultural infrastructures, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and support for the private sectors.

In October 2021, Iran and the Taliban concluded agreements on a series of issues with the purpose of strengthening the economic relations and facilitating trade between the two countries.
