Lebanon Holds Funeral for Slain Ex-Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Lebanon held the funeral of Mohamad Chatah, the former finance minister, killed in a bombing two days ago.
Security was tightened on Sunday around a mosque in the centre of Beirut where prominent figures attended the burial of Chatah, a close aide of ex-prime minister Saad Hariri.
Chatah was killed along with at least seven others in a blast on Friday that shook the capital Beirut.
He was to be buried next to Saad's father, late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was assassinated in 2005.
Chatah's assassination is part of an ongoing wave of violence destabilising the country for years.
