Iran-Germany Establish Working Group to Boost Cooperation on Agriculture

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Germany agreed to set up a special working group to expand mutual cooperation in the development of agricultural sector, a senior Iranian lawmaker announced.

Speaking to Tasnim on Sunday, Vice Chairman of Parliament’s Agriculture Commission Nasser Salehi Nasab said a 3-member delegation from the Iranian parliament accompanied Iranian Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati in his visit to Berlin to participate in the 6th Global Food and Agricultural Forum.

He said in addition to the conference, the Iranian delegation held meetings with German agriculture minister, heads of agricultural companies and investors.

"The Exchange of agricultural products between Iran and Germany was stressed in the meeting," he said.

“In our meeting with the German agriculture minister it was agreed to establish a joint working group to expand the two countries’ mutual cooperation in the development of agricultural sector," the lawmaker noted.

Salehi Nasab also said that in the meeting with the German minister said a German agricultural delegation will visit Iran within a month to prepare the ground for broader cooperation with Tehran in the field.
