Assad Stresses Importance of Regional Cooperation to Confront Terrorism
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed that cooperation among countries of the region is key to confront extremism and terrorism that have plagued the region.
President al-Assad's comments came during his meeting Wednesday with Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
President Assad further affirmed during the meeting the importance of coordination among regional countries' parliaments, and called on them to adopt united stance against Wahabi thought that poses the gravest threat to the regional nations and the world, the Syrian SANA news agency reported.
