Iran Defeats Kuwait in AFC Asian Cup Qualifier
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national football team on Monday defeated Kuwait in Group B of the AFC Asian Cup qualifier.
In the match held in Enghelab Stadium in Karaj, located west of Tehran on Monday, Iran edged past Kuwait 3-2.
Iran striker Yaghoub Karimi was on target just two minutes into the match.
Waleed Ali Jumaha equalized the match in the 18th minute.
Payam Sadeghian found the back of the net in the 61st minute.
With one minute remaining, Fahad Al Rashidi scored a late equalizer but at the dying moments of the match Karim Ansarifard scored a winning goal for the host.
Iran and Kuwait had already qualified for the competition ahead of Lebanon and Thailand in Group B.
