Iranian President Wishes Lasting Peace for Muslim Nations

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday expressed optimism that the Muslim world would take great steps towards promoting peace and tranquility through utilizing the divine blessings of the fasting month of Ramadan.

In a message to Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Amin Madani, the Iranian president congratulated him on the advent of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

“I hope that the Islamic world will take steps on the path of progress and prosperity as well as peace and tranquility through utilizing the noble teachings of Islam and the good traditions of the Great Prophet (PBUH) and God's blessings in this month,” Rouhani stated.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and a time when Muslims across the world fast during the hours of daylight.

Earlier, President Rouhani also congratulated the heads of state and governments of the Muslim countries on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

He called on the leaders of the Islamic countries to try their hardest to promote unity and the spirit of brotherhood among Muslims.
