Iran’s Red Crescent Ready to Send Aid to Gaza Strip

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Red Crescent Society voiced preparedness to send humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Society proposed the suggestion through a letter on Sunday to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

In his letter, the IRCS Deputy for International Affairs Mohammad Shahabeddin Mohammadi Araqi expressed solidarity with the Palestinian nation and all the volunteers at Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

In his letter to the PRCS President Younes Al Khatib, the Iranian official said the country is ready to help the Palestinian victims through sending assistance and medical equipment.

Since July 8, Israel has been carrying out attacks on Gaza, bombing civilian areas and public buildings. So far, more than 160 civilians in the Gaza Strip have been killed and over one thousands have been injured.

In response to Israel’s deadly attacks, Hamas been firing retaliatory rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

Some 1.7 million people in Gaza are deprived of their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.
