Nenad Lalovic Appointed as FILA President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Nenad Lalovic was appointed as president of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) on Sunday.

Lalovic was the only candidate to this post.

The Congress of International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, prior the world championships.

Serb Nenad Lalovic, who was named as acting president of FILA since February 2013, was appointed for a six-year term to lead the federation through the next two Olympic Games.

“To keep wrestling in the Olympics, we need support of all countries,” Lalovic told the reporters.

The annual World Wrestling Championships are scheduled for Sept. 8-14 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

The competitions will bring more than 700 wrestlers from 80 countries together.
