TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national football team (also known as Team Melli) is resolved to beat its arch-rival South Korea for the third time in a row.

The Iranian football team will host South Korea on Tuesday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

The Korean team is, too, resolved to end its winless streak versus Iran.

This match will be Uli Stielike’s last chance to test players in action before naming the South Korean roster for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Iran will also play South Africa on December 19th in Johannesburg.

South Korea is ranked 66th in the world, fourth-highest among Asian countries. Iran is the top Asian nation at 51st.

Iran holds an edge over South Korea in their all-time meetings with 11 wins, nine losses and seven draws.

Iran and South Korea are preparing for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, which will open in January in Australia.

Iran is in Group C along with the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain and South Korea has been pitted in Group A along with Australia, Oman and Kuwait.
