Iranian FM: Israeli Regime Seeking to Judaize Holy al-Quds
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian foreign minister said Israel’s recent illegal, aggressive and provocative measures against Palestinian citizens praying in al-Aqsa Mosque were part of Israel's continuous policy of Judaizing the holy city of al-Quds (Jerusalem).
In a message to Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Zarar Ahmed Moqbel Osmani, submitted by Iran's envoy to Kabul Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned Israel’s recent actions in the occupied Palestine and pointed to the necessity for an urgent reaction by Islamic countries to Israeli moves.
Iranian Foreign Minister also referred to Israel's plan to bar Muslim worshippers from entering Ibrahim Mosque in al-Khalil as well as the growing trend of the construction of Zionist settlements in al-Quds and the occupied West Bank, and considered these actions as a way to change the historical and religious identity of al-Aqsa Mosque.
“International organizations and some countries have been silent on these aggressive, illegal and provocative measures and this unacceptable silence would seriously threaten regional peace,” Zarif underlined in his message.
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that Palestinian people and Muslim people rightfully expect an urgent and effective reaction by Islamic countries and regional and international organizations for preventing Israel’s actions.
Zarif also said Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to collaborate with Islamic countries and international organizations to strongly condemn the Zionist Regime and take appropriate measures to stop this regime’s aggressive actions.
