Hezbollah Official: Saudi Arabia Committing Genocide in Yemen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hezbollah Resistance Movement's second-in-command, Sheikh Naim Qassem, condemned the Saudi-led war on Yemen, saying that Riyadh is committing "genocide" in its neighboring country.

"Saudi Arabia is committing genocide in Yemen," Sheikh Naim Qassem was quoted as saying by the Lebanese-based Al Mayadeen TV channel.

He added that one cannot remain silent about the atrocity that is happening in Yemen.

The senior Lebanese cleric warned against the consequences of the aggression, saying that Riyadh will suffer "very heavy losses" due to its interference in Yemen.

He went on to say that the Saudi war on Yemen will negatively affect Riyadh's regional role.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Saudi-led coalition, including military forces from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Bahrain, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt, has killed hundreds of civilians so far.
