Iran Beaten by Japan at Asian U-23 Women's Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran lost to Japan in Pool E of the Asian Under-23 Women's Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.

Japan defeated Iran in three sets (25-13, 25-7, 25-15) at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, the Philippines.

Iran opened the campaign with two victories against the Philippines and Kazakhstan respectively in Pool A but lost to Chinese Taipei and Japan.

It’s the inaugural edition of the tournament and serves as the Asian qualifiers for the 2015 FIVB Women's U-23 Volleyball World Championship which will be held in Ankara, Turkey with the top two teams qualifying for the world championship.
