USA Coach Speraw Happy to Beat Iran in FIVB World League

The US beat Iran 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 25-20) in Pool B match of the 2015 FIVB World League on Monday.

USA had already defeated the Iranian team 3-1 on Sunday.

“I am very happy with the way we played against Iran,” USA coach John Speraw said in the post match news conference.

“I think Micah (Christenson) continues to improve in the way he runs our offence. The second and third sets were similar in some regards. Iran started serving the ball much tougher. They switched to jump serves,” he added.

“They were getting us to pass the ball off the net. When you’re playing that game with Iran, it can be very difficult. Its defence and transition are very good,” Speraw said.
