Iran’s Reza Dehdar 5th in IWF Junior World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Reza Dehdar from Iran finished in the fifth place in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships on Thursday.

Dehdar lifted 154kg in the snatch and 186kg in the clean and jerk for a 340kg total in the 94kg weight class.

Russian Khetag Khugaev seized the gold medal with a total of 374kg, lifting 172kg in the snatch and 202kg in the clean and jerk.

Volodymyr Hoza from Ukraine won the silver medal by lifting 173kg in the snatch, 193kg in the clean and jerk for a 366kg total.

Bronze medal went to Yunseong JIN from Korea with a total of 356kg. He lifted 165kg in the snatch and 191kg in the clean and jerk.

Iran’s Ali Miri won a silver medal on Tuesday in the 77kg class. Ayoob Mousavi also came fifth in the 85kg class.

The tournament has brought 236 lifters from 42 countries together in the six-day competition in Wroclaw, Poland.

Iran is competing in the championships with four weightlifters.
