Iran after “Dignified” Nuclear Deal: FM Zarif

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s foreign minister and chief negotiator Mohammad Javad Zarif said Tehran seeks one final nuclear deal with world powers that would respect the dignity of the Iranian nation, reiterating opposition to excessive demands in the course of talks.

As Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed, Iranians want "a dignified deal and reject excessive demands,” Zarif said in comments posted on his Twitter account on Thursday.

“(I am) Going to Vienna to secure a fair and lasting” nuclear agreement, he added.

Zarif is going to join his deputies on Saturday morning in the ongoing negotiations with world powers in Vienna, capital of Austria, over Tehran's nuclear energy program, just a few days before the self-imposed deadline of June 30.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are negotiating to hammer out a lasting accord that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's civilian nuclear program.

On April 2, the two sides reached a framework nuclear agreement in Lausanne, Switzerland, with both sides committed to push for a final deal until the end of June.

Ayatollah Khamenei had underlined on Tuesday that a possible final nuclear deal should immediately terminate all sanctions against Iran, either imposed by the UN Security Council or the US.
