WASHINGTON (Tasnim) – Hundreds of people staged a demonstration here in the US capital of Washington, DC, on Friday to observe the International Quds Day.
According to Tasnim dispatches, after Friday prayers, the worshipers held a rally on Dupont Circle in Washington to show their solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation.
More than 300 Muslims, including leaders of some Palestinian groups, Iranian university students and staffers of Iran's Interests Section in Washington participated in the Friday demonstration.
Some Christian, Jewish and Muslim activists, delivered speeches at the event and condemned the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
Each year, millions of people across the world hold massive rallies on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
It is seen as an opportunity for freedom-seeking people across the world, regardless of faith, to voice their support for the cause of Palestine and vent their anger against the Apartheid regime of Israel, which has occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.
