SANA Chief Stresses Close Media Cooperation with Iran’s Tasnim

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Managing Director of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) voiced his agency’s willingness to further boost the current media cooperation with the Tasnim News Agency.

Speaking in a meeting with Tasnim’s Chief Majid Qolizadeh held at Tasnim’s headquarters in Tehran on Saturday, Ahmad Dawa lauded the cooperation agreement already signed between the two news agencies.

“Our cooperation with your news agency is not limited to a specific field and we will not act merely within the agreement rather we will establish constant online cooperation with you,” Dawa said.

“Our cooperation should further expand,” he underscored, adding that Tasnim is among top sources for news on Iran and Syria.

Dawa also announced that SANA has already set up a department for releasing news in Persian language.

In March 2014, Tasnim and SANA signed a cooperation agreement in a bid to boost cultural and media interactions.

Qolizadeh and Dawa signed the cooperation agreement at a ceremony in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Under the agreement, the two sides have undertaken to maintain effective bilateral relations in media fields.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) is the national official news agency in Syria. It was established in 1965. It is linked to the Ministry of Information and has its headquarters in Damascus.
