Aleksandar Ćiric Appointed Iran Water Polo Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Serbian coach Aleksandar Ciric has been named as new head coach of Iranian national water polo team.

The 37-year-old coach took charge of Iran water polo team on a four-month contract.

Ciric has played for two Olympic bronze medal squads, one for FR Yugoslavia at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sidney, the other for Serbia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and one silver medal squad for Serbia and Montenegro at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

“Iran has so many talented players. We want to improve step by step," he said in the news conference on Monday.

"I can promise I’ll do everything I can using all my experience to help Iran to reach the same level as Kazakhstan, Japan and China,” Ciric added.
