Nest of MKO Terrorists in Iraq Hit by Rockets: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A barrage of Katyusha rockets struck a camp of remnants of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) members near Baghdad on Thursday, an Iraqi news website reported.

Al-Masalah news website quoted Iraqi sources as saying that 15 Katyusha rockets hit the premises of Camp Liberty, a former US military base near Baghdad International Airport, where the MKO terrorists are being kept.

According to the report, the projectiles have been fired from al-Bakriya area.

The MKO -listed as a terrorist organization by much of the international community- fled Iran in 1986 for Iraq, fought on the side of Saddam Hussein during the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (1980-88), and was given a camp by Saddam.

The group has been behind numerous acts of terror against Iranian civilians and officials, and was involved in the 1991 bloody repression of Shiite Muslims in southern Iraq, and the massacre of Iraqi Kurds in the country's north.
