Iran to Play Thailand at AFC U-16 Women's Championship Opener
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran will play Thailand on Wednesday in its opening match of the 2015 AFC U-16 Women's Championship.
The Iranian team has been pitted in Group A along with host China, South Korea and Thailand.
Group B consists of Japan, North Korea, Uzbekistan and Chinese Taipei.
The tournament will be held in Wuhan, China from November 4 to 15.
The 2015 AFC U-16 Women's Championship is the 6th edition of the competition, the biennial international youth football championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the women's under-16 national teams of Asia.
The tournament acts as the AFC qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The top two teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Jordan.
