Putin: Syria Anti-Terrorism Experience Should Be Introduced into Training

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The experience of combat activities against terrorists in Syria should be introduced in the troops training practice and taken into account in development of promising armaments, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday.

"The experience gained against international terrorists in Syria should be consecutively introduced in the training practice for troops and control bodies, be used during drills and snap checks, and be taken into account by defense industry designers and engineers in the development of promising weaponry," Putin said at a meeting with defense industry officials, Sputnik reported.

His comments came as the Russian Armed Forces launched a large-scale operation to deliver strikes against terrorists in the Syrian provinces of Idlib and Homs, including with the involvement of the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov.

The Russian Air Force began carrying out airstrikes against Daesh targets in Syria in September 2015 at the request of the Syrian president Bashar Assad.
