Iran Drawn with Qatar in Indoor Hockey Asia Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran learned its rivals in the seventh edition of the Indoor Hockey Asia Cup.
The competition will kick on April 24 in Doha, Qatar.
Iran has been drawn in Group A along with Qatar, Malaysia and Oman.
Group B consists of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei and Thailand.
Iran is the most decorated Asian team, winning six previous editions.
Indoor Hockey Asia Cup is an international men's and women's indoor field hockey tournament governed by the Asian Hockey Federation (ASHF).
It was introduced in 2008 for men's competition and the women's competition was added a year later in 2009.
The Indoor Hockey Asia Cup’s finalists will qualify for the Hockey Indoor World Cup 2018 which will be held in Berlin, Germany from February 7 to 11.
