Yemeni Forces Fire Two Homegrown Missiles at Saudi Troops in Jizan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s army and Popular Committees targeted gatherings of Saudi troops in Jizan in southern Saudi Arabia with two homegrown ballistic missiles dubbed “Zelzal-2” in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, sources said.
The missile command of the Yemeni army fired the ballistic missiles at Saudi positions south of al-Mousem in Jizan province, a military source said on Tuesday.
In another development, the artillery unit of the Yemeni army pounded the Saudi targets in al-Dokhan also in Jizan, the Arabic-language Al Mayadeen reported.
Snipers of the army and Popular Committees also killed three Saudi servicemen in al-Farizah military base in the province.
The forces of the Arabian Peninsula country have already hit Saudi positions with various homegrown missiles, including “Qaher-1”, which has a range of 500 kilometers, and “Borkan-1”.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.
According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
