Iran Downs Italy at FIVB U-21 World Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran outplayed Italy in straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-21) in its first match of the FIVB U-21 World Championship on Friday.

Rasoul Aghchehli top scored for Iran with 11 points, while Giulio Pinali managed a team-high 12 points for Italy.

Iran will play Ukraine in Pool C on Saturday.

The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship will be the nineteenth edition of the international volleyball tournament and the world championship for men's national teams under the age of 21, organized by the sport's world governing body, FIVB.

 The tournament is hosted by Czech Republic in the cities of Brno and Ceské Budejovice from 23 June to 2 July 2017
