Attack on Saudi Refineries A Revenge for Execution of Yemenis: Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saturday’s missile attack launched by Yemeni military forces on Saudi Arabia’s oil refineries in Yanbu was in revenge for the recent execution of Yemeni captive forces, president of Yemen’s revolutionary council said.
Yemen’s al-Massira TV quoted Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi as saying on Sunday that the missile attack on oil refineries in Saudi Arabia’s western port city of Yanbu was in retaliation for the execution of four captive soldiers from Yemen’s army and popular committees and for the Riyadh regime’s criminal acts against the people of Yemen.
He also stressed that the Yemeni army and popular force have many more options that would be employed in the battlefield at an appropriate time.
On Saturday, Yemeni forces fired Borkan-2 (Volcano-2) ballistic missiles at Saudi oil refineries in Yanbu. The missile strike inflicted heavy damages on the refineries, reports said on Sunday.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
