Iranian Deputy FM in Lebanon to Discuss Bilateral Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari is in the Lebanese capital to hold talks with senior officials of the Arab country on a range of issues, including bilateral ties between Tehran and Beirut.

Heading a high-ranking political delegation, Jaberi Ansari arrived in Beirut on Monday at the invitation of the Lebanese government.

He plans to hold meetings with senior Lebanese officials and political and religious leaders on various issues, including ways to boost bilateral relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the Middle East region.

Three weeks ago, Iranian Parliament speaker's special adviser on international affairs, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, had paid an official visit to Lebanon in a bid to boost Tehran-Beirut ties.

In a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut on July 31, Amir Abdollahian underscored that Iran will keep providing effective supports for the anti-Israeli axis of resistance in Lebanon.
