Saudi Jets Conduct Fresh Strikes against Yemen’s Sa’ada

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi military aircraft carried out 13 airstrikes against residential areas in Yemen as the Saudi regime presses ahead with an atrocious military campaign against its crisis-hit southern neighbor.

Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Saudi fighter jets on Thursday bombarded the district of Baqim in northwestern Sa’ada province with 13 strikes, inflicting major losses on people and their properties there, Saba news agency reported.

Meanwhile, Saudi troops shelled Shada district in Sa’ada, killing and injuring dozens of people, the report added.

In response, Yemen’s army and fighters from popular committees targeted the gathering centers of Saudi-backed mercenaries in Sirwah district of Yemen's central province of Ma'rib.

The bombardment claimed the lives of a large group of the militants.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
