Israel Warplanes Strike Gaza Overnight

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Following new clashes in the occupied Palestinian lands after US decision to recognize Jerusalem (al-Quds) as capital of Israel, the Zionist regime's warplanes targeted positions in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday night.

Israel forces claimed that they have targeted Hamas positions.

In another development, Hamas fired rockets at Israeli forces in the southern Israeli region of Hof Ashkelon on Tuesday.

Also, the occupying Zionist regime forces stationed at Nahal Oz military base, along the border with Gaza, opened live fire at Palestinian protesters who approached the border fence, injuring four of them, including two seriously. One of the two was critically injured in his head and the other in the abdomen.

Other protesters who were at the scene also suffered suffocation as a result of the Israeli soldiers’ use of teargas.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 1,300 people have been injured by the occupying forces’ fire since the beginning of unrest in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Gaza, following US President Donald Trump’s decision last week to recognize Jerusalem (al-Quds) as capital of Israel.

Israel has occupied East Quds since the 1967 Middle East war. It annexed the area in 1980 and sees it as its exclusive domain. Under international law, the area is considered to be occupied territory.
