Iranian Duo Win Medals at 2018 Asian Junior Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Aref Khaki Bakhtiarvand and Afshin Taheri Hajivand claimed two silver and bronze medal respectively at the 2018 Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships.
In the men’s 85kg weight category, Bakhtiarvand finished in second place after lifting 147kg in snatch and 188kg in clean and jerk for a total of 335kg.
The bronze medal went to his countryman Hajivand, who lifted 154kg in snatch and 177kg in clean and jerk. He came third with a total of 331kg.
Zaynobiddin Makhamadaminov from Uzbekistan claimed a gold medal with a total lift of 345kg.
Iran’s Hossein Soltani had already won a gold medal in the men’s 77kg category.
The 25th Asian Junior Women and 32nd Asian Junior Men Weightlifting Championships are being held from April 20 to 30 in Urgench, Uzbekistan.
