Iran’s Soltani Wins Silver at IWF Junior World Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hossein Soltani of Iran won the silver medal at the 77kg weight category in the 2018 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships on Tuesday.
Soltani lifted 149kg in snatch and 177kg in clean and jerk. He won the silver medal for a total of 326kg.
Latvian Ritvars Suharevs claimed the gold medal with a total of 336kg. He lifted 156kg and 180kg in snatch and clean and jerk respectively.
The bronze medal went to Armenian Rafik Harutyunyan with a total of 324kg.
Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, is hosting the 2018 Junior World Weightlifting Championships from July 7 to 14.
