Yemeni Troops Inflict Major Losses on Saudi Soldiers, Mercenaries

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni forces and their allies stepped up their attacks against Saudi-backed mercenaries in different areas inside and outside the Arab country, inflicting major losses on them.

The missile force of Yemen’s army fired a ballistic missile at Saudi-paid mercenaries near al-Faras hill in the area of al-Ajasher in the kingdom’s Najran region, a military source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Saba news agency on Sunday.

In the southwestern Saudi border region of Jizan, the gathering of Saudi soldiers near al-Dukhan mountain were shelled. Dozens of the troops lost their lives in the attack.

In the war-torn country's central province of al-Bayda, the army repelled an infiltration attempt towards al-Zaher, killing and injuring dozens of militants.

In a separate development, the Saudi-backed mercenaries suffered losses in al-Ghail district in the northern province of Jawf.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.
