Indian Media Release Video of Anti-Satellite Missile Launch (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A video posted on Twitter page of an Indian TV channel reportedly shows footage of India launching a missile it used to successfully destroy one of its own satellites in the orbit.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed targeting a satellite some 300km away in low-earth orbit during a television address to the nation.
“Our scientists shot down a live satellite 300 kilometers away in space, in low-earth orbit,” Modi said in his address.
“India has made an unprecedented achievement today,” he said, speaking in Hindi. “India registered its name as a space power.”
