Fresh Saudi Attacks Kill 16 Civilians in Yemen’s Dhale

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi warplanes pounded civilian areas in Yemen’s southwestern province of Dhale, killing at least 16 people.

Yemen’s al-Masirah TV reported that Saudi airstrikes hit a residential building in Dhale on Tuesday.

The report added that at least 16 people were killed and other people were still trapped under the rubble.

On Monday, Saudi air raids hit a mosque in the western province of Amran, killing seven people, including children and women, who had taken refuge in the mosque in order to avoid Saudi attacks.

The intensified air raids come despite an offer by Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement for a ceasefire.

A Houthi official on Friday said the movement would stop targeting Saudi territory if Riyadh ended its strikes on Yemen.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
