Six Esteghlal Players Test Positive for COVID-19
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – According to Iranian football club Esteghlal, six players of the team have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Esteghlal’s training was shut down on Saturday one day ahead of the match against Pars Jonoubi in Bushehr.
The club’s doctor, Kaveh Sotoodeh, has said there are several more players suspected of having the virus awaiting test results.
On Friday, Foolad club announced that six players of the team had tested positive for the coronavirus.
If five players of a team contract the virus, the team’s matches will be canceled, acting head of Iran Football League Organization Soheil Mahdi has said.
