IFFCY Judges Draw Up Shortlist of Nominees in National Section

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The list of movies shortlisted for prize at the national section of the 34th International Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY) in Iran was released.

After a voting session on Tuesday, the jury of the international film festival released the list of movies nominated for prize in the national section.

The nominees in the ‘Corona Diaries’ subsection include ‘Home’ by Hossein Zahedi, ‘Life Space’ by Ilia Ramezai, ‘What Corona Did to Us and What We Did with It?’ By Iliad Mahshidi, Miad Mahshidi, and Saedeh Kastvani, and ‘A Crowned Virus’ by Parsa Mohammadi.

The shortlist of best movies in the Web-Series subsection are ‘Ashmachz’ and ‘A Digital Mistake’ by Faryad Bayat, and ‘Pash Mesh’ by Azad Sadeqi.

The list of bets films in the ‘Short Animated Films Competition’ include ‘ID’ by Fahimeh Qobadi, ‘Autumn Winds, Spring Winds and Two Birds’ by Sadeq Javadi, and ‘Past’ by Hamid Mohammadi.

‘The Winner’ by Ali Keivan, ‘Trees of Valiasr Street or Impression’ by Emad Hosseini-Fard, ‘The Second Floor Operation’ by Mohammad Hossein Tafreshi, ‘I am Samir’ by Matin Rokn, and ‘Vadiar’ by Marjan Khosravi are in the list of Short Fiction Films Competition subsection.

The nominees in the Feature Films Competition section include ‘Reporter’ by Ebrahim Forozesh, ‘The Secret of Castle’ by Karim Renasian, and ‘The Sweeper’ by Amin Shojaei.

The nominees for best movie in Iran National Competition include ‘Sea Sons’ by Behrouz Neshan, ‘Lipar’ by Saeed Khani, and ‘Between the Rocks’ by Mohammad Ahmadi.

Afshin Hashemi and Hossein Qasemi Jami for ‘Sea Boys’, Hossein Rigi for ‘Lipar’, and Mokhtar Abdollahi for ‘Between the Rocks’ are on the shortlist for best director.

The nominees for best script are Afshin Hashemi and Hossein Qasemi Jami for ‘Sea Boys’, Hossein Rigi and Hessam Rarahmand for ‘Lipar’, and Amir Mohammad Abdi for ‘Bam Bala’.

The 34th International Film Festival for Children and Youth opened on October 8 in collaboration with the Iranian Cinema Organization, Farabi Cinematic Foundation, and Isfahan Municipality. The festival will be wrapped up on October 13.
