Iranian Women's Junior Handball Team Makes History
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian women’s junior handball team made history by booking a place in the 2022 Women's Junior World Handball Championship.
The Iranian team won a silver medal in the 2022 Asian Women's Junior Handball Championship and advanced to the world championship as one of top two finishers.
India edged past Iran on goal difference and bagged the top spot on the podium.
Iran finished second with three wins over India, Thailand and Uzbekistan and a loss against Kazakhstan, but had to settle for the silver medal on the basis of goal difference.
The 2022 Asian Women's Junior Handball Championship was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan from March 7 to 14.
The 2022 Women's Junior World Handball Championship will be held in Slovenia from June 22 to July 3.
