Hamas Condemns ‘Sadist Practice’ By Israeli Occupation Forces in Killing Children

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement denounced the Israeli occupation's recurring crimes against defenseless children as a "sadist" practice.

World

The condemnation was issued on Thursday in response to the brutal killing of a Palestinian child by Israeli regime forces.

Rayyan Yaser Suleiman, seven, died earlier Thursday in Taquu, near Bethlehem, in the southern part of the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Rayyan was killed while he and his classmates were being pursued by Israeli troops on their way home from school.

According to the Palestinian Authority's health ministry in the West Bank, the minor died after falling from a high place during the chase.

In response to the incident, Hamas stated that the Israeli military's "crimes against Palestinian children, people, land, and sanctuaries will not grant Israel security," according to the Palestinian Information Center.

Such heinous crimes, the movement added, would "only strengthen the Palestinian resistance's resolve to defend Palestinian lands and rights until Palestine is fully liberated."

According to medical staff at the Beit Jala Governmental Hospital, where Rayyan was pronounced dead, the child's heart had also stopped beating as he ran away from the troops, according to the official Palestinian Wafa news agency.

Yaser, the Palestinian boy's father, confirmed that Israeli troops had chased his son to their home, adding that Rayyan's heart had apparently stopped beating because he was so terrified, Wafa added.

The father stated that he drove his son to the hospital but was stopped halfway by Israeli forces who checked his son. They let him drive after they confirmed he was dead, according to Yaser.
