Iran Qualifies for 2023 World Women's Handball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Australia 43-15 at the 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship on Sunday and booked its place at the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship.

Iran had previously defeated India and Uzbekistan in Group A of the competition.

Team Melli Banovan will play South Korea on Wednesday.

Group B consists of Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, China and Hong Kong.

The 2022 Asian Women's Handball Championship is the 19th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship. It is taking place in South Korea from November 24 to December 4.

The tournament is being held under the aegis of the Asian Handball Federation and acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top five teams qualifying.
