Sohrab Moradi on Track in Comeback from Shoulder Injury

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Olympic gold medalist Sohrab Moradi continues to make progress in his recovery from shoulder surgery.

He was absent in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships due to a shoulder injury.

Moradi, who had won Olympic gold at Rio 2016 in the 94kg weight class, also missed the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The 34-year-old weightlifter won two gold medals in the 2017 and 2018 World Championships in Anaheim and Ashgabat, respectively.

Moradi has started his training to participate in the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships, which will be held in Jinju, South Korea in May.

The event serves as a qualification event for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
