US-Backed Militia Confronted by Syrian Farmers over Confiscation Attempt in Deir Ez-Zur

TEHRAN (Tasnim) –An armed group affiliated with the US-backed QSD militia attempted to confiscate a diesel tank belonging to farmers from al-Ezba town in the northern countryside of Deir Ez-Zur, resulting in a clash with the town's residents.

According to local sources, the altercation took place when the group tried to detain a citizen, leading to injuries among militants and civilians.

"The residents of the town clashed with armed men of QSD on the background of their attempt to kidnap a citizen and confiscate a diesel tank belonging to farmers from the town, resulting in injuries among the militants and civilians," the sources disclosed to SANA.

The situation escalated as the people targeted the militias' cars and expelled them from the town. There were concerns that the militia would return and commit crimes against the citizens.

Syria has been gripped by a foreign-backed terror campaign since 2011, when the US and its Western and regional allies began their overt attempts to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
