Iran Edged by New Zealand at 2023 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup QFs
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national basketball team lost to New Zealand 20-18 at the quarterfinals round of the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup on Sunday.
Team Melli had defeated the Philippines 11-4 and Qatar 21-19 on Friday in Group D.
The Iranian women team had been already knocked out of the competition after suffering two defeats against the Philippines and China.
The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2023 is of great importance, being qualifier for the Olympic Games (Paris 2024), where the champion will play the Olympic play-off with the continental champions to determine the participating teams in the Olympics.
