Iran Urges Formation of United Muslim Front against Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed the need to set up a united front of Islamic countries to confront the Zionist regime and provide strong support for the Palestinian nation.

In a telephone conversation with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Sunday, Raisi congratulated him and the revolutionary people of the African country on the holy month of Ramadan.

"Iran and Algeria have close, common positions on regional and global issues, especially the issue of Palestine and the rights of the oppressed people of the country," Raisi added, according to his official website.

The Zionist regime's crimes against the Palestinian people have intensified in recent months, he deplored, adding, "Today, the necessity of cooperation and the formation of a united front of Islamic countries against the Zionist Regime and in firm support of the Palestinian nation is felt more than ever."

He also expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between the two countries and expressed hope that the cooperation between Tehran and Algiers, especially in the economic and commercial fields, would improve day by day.

For his part, President Tebboune congratulated the president and the people of Iran on the month of Ramadan and said, "The oppressed people of Palestine are suffering from the brutality of the Zionist Regime in the month of Ramadan, which is the month of piety and worship, and I hope that with cooperation of Islamic countries, we can free the Palestinian nation from the oppression of the Zionists."

The two presidents also emphasized the need to take practical steps based on the roadmap for the development of mutual cooperation.
